What does IP67 mean to you?
IP stands for "Ingress Protection“ – meaning protection against the ingress of foreign objects. The numbers indicate the degree of this protection:
- 6 Dustproof: Complete protection against dust. The housing is completely dustproof, so no dust can penetrate, even under negative pressure conditions.
- 7 – Waterproof when submerged: Protection against temporary immersion in water. The device can be submerged up to 1 meter deep in water for up to 30 minutes without water ingress or impaired functionality.
This is how we test your product according to IP67:
A device only receives IP67 certification if it passes two demanding tests:
- Dust testThe housing is exposed to fine dust in a test chamber. With IP67, absolutely nothing must penetrate.
- Water testThe device is submerged in water 1 meter deep for 30 minutes. It remains fully functional after the test.
